Employment
Seven Oaks General Hospital is well known in the community as a great place to work. We believe this is in large part due to the commitment and effort to provide a high level of job satisfaction to all of our employees.
Opened in 1981, SOGH is the newest acute care facility in the City of Winnipeg. With just under 300 beds, we provide a wide variety of ambulatory and inpatient care services in our Medicine, Surgery, Geriatrics, Critical Care, Mental Health and Out-patient Rehabilitation programs. The Hospital's Mission of "A healing community dedicated to providing holistic health and wellness services with skill and compassion", is driven by a patient-focused team approach to care and the use of a system of Caremaps which show patients a schedule for their care and expected recovery.
Seven Oaks General Hospital is associated with the University of Manitoba Faculty of Medicine through the provision of an on-site Family Medicine Residency Program. Additionally, we serve as a clinical practice site for a variety of other disciplines, including nursing, allied health and chaplaincy. Participating in the education of future health professionals is something we take seriously.
Many factors contribute to SOGH being a great place to work:
- An extensive Orientation Program for all staff new to the Hospital;
- A staff injury prevention and treatment program. Staff have direct and immediate access to a physiotherapist;
- Access to the Wellness Institute - the first health and wellness centre attached to a health care facility. This facility is part of our hospital, dedicated to promoting health, preventing illness and disability and restoring wellness of body, mind and spirit through education, lifestyle and fitness programs and rehabilitation;
- Opportunities to participate in various program and hospital committees, which address a variety of policy and practice issues;
- A wide range of benefits including life insurance, dental, group health, pension and long term disability coverage.
- An on-site Child Day Care Centre (click on Seven Oaks Child Day Care Centre for more information)
Seven Oaks General Hospital's unique approach to patient care is reflected in a building specifically designed to make patient care easier to provide. This is especially noticeable in the arrangement of our in-patient units that have groupings of patient rooms surrounding a nursing station. All rooms are within sight – and within just a few steps – of the nursing station.Each grouping or cluster accommodates 10 patients. If you are interested in a career in an innovative health care facility committed to excellence, then Seven Oaks General Hospital is the place for you!
